Fun and Free Logic Puzzles

6 11 2008

If you are a fan of logic puzzles, I learned of a site that has really good ones. It’s called Kongregate, and there are more than just logic puzzles there, but since that’s what I like, I haven’t explored the other games. Here’s the link to the logic puzzles

This evening, I tried a game called Gateway. You walk from room to room and solve different puzzles, trying to figure out how to get to the next room. These were very abstract, intriguing puzzles involving patterns. It made me think of what it must be like for animals to try to learn what people are teaching them. In some of the puzzles, it was hard to know what you were supposed to pay attention to, or what the desired behavior even was. So half the puzzle was figuring that out, and once you did, you *really* got it and were rewarded.

Another fun one is called Fantastic Contraption where you try to build contraptions out of rods and wheels to move an object to a target. I got a little over halfway through the levels before my mind boggled and I gave up.

Anyway, these are very addicting, and free. A good combination when it’s too dark in the evenings to do much, but you don’t want to be a complete slug.

Pretty cool. I just tried Fantastic Contraption for a bit. I’ll have to bookmark that site.

Yes, I agree with Brother John, I’m marking this site. I love things like this. I find it keeps your brain working better if you try stimulating things like this. Thanks a lot for sharing this.
