Note to Self

8 02 2009

When a journal requests that you enclose an SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) so they can inform you as to whether your poetry has been accepted, the SASE should be enclosed in the envelope addressed to the journal. If you use the two envelopes the other way around, then your submission will be sent directly to you instead of the journal.

Fortunately, I noticed this mistake before I dropped my submission in the mail.

I’ve been busy this weekend submitting short stories and a poem to various online and print magazines/journals. So keep your fingers crossed for me! If anything is accepted, I’ll let you all know and will link to it if there is online publication. It takes quite a while to get to that point, though, and I’ve only just started submitting. Still, you have to begin somewhere, and I’m glad to have a couple of pieces out for consideration.

hiya amy,

This is funny because I sent an apartment application off, and after I came home from the post office, I noticed the money order was still on my counter.

That’s when I realized I sent the receipt half of the m.o.

…woe is me.

Good luck with those submissions though, that’s always funsy, (with the exception of the rejection slips I get, haha)

: )

Oh no! I hope it can be straightened out easily. I hate paperwork.

Thanks for the good luck wishes! I’m braced for as many rejections as it takes to get an acceptance. :)
