I hope you meet with such luck someday soon too. I'm relieved I have work, but it does bother me that so many don't. If I could change that, I would in a heartbeat. There are signs of things stabilizing, but it will take a while for the jobs to follow. How soon they follow depends on what part of the country you are in, I'm sure. Of the people who were laid off with me in February, most now have something...even if it's a three month contract position. So here in the Twin Cities, at least, there are jobs. Just takes a lot of work to find one. I applied for 30, and most were put on hold or filled internally. Only got calls from two employers. I do know a recruiter in Boston who said things are suddenly picking up for her. Mainly contract work right now, I think, but that's a very good sign, along with a bunch of folks I know picking up contract work. Companies start with temps/contractors when they start needing folks again. So the signs are there that more jobs are on the way, but I understand how frustrating it is if one of them isn't yours at this moment. Hang in there, and I will send good thoughts for you!
